As one of the largest insurance companies in Germany, R+V Insurance operates SAP test systems with high data volumes. paricon’s individually scalable solution, optimized for processing large data volumes, made it possible to anonymize even the largest test systems within the prescribed provisioning time windows and make them available for testing activities.

To address these challenges, R+V Insurance decided to adopt paricon’s Smart Data Protection solution after a successful proof of concept. The key steps for implementation were as follows:

  • Localization of sensitive information: Initial identification of all personal data in the SAP system using our innovative, autonomous Smart Search. In this way, a very large number of relevant data records were identified, particularly including custom enhancements.
  • Individual configuration of anonymization logic: In the second step, the anonymization rules were configured so that the logic of the existing anonymization functions in the surrounding systems was replicated 1:1 for the SAP systems.
  • Performance optimization: In the final step, the performance settings of our solution were adjusted to match the infrastructure and sizing of R+V’s test systems.

The deployment of paricon’s Smart Data Protection solution at R+V Insurance has led to a significant increase in the security and efficiency of the provisioning processes for GDPR-compliant SAP test systems. The following concrete benefits were achieved:

Compared to previous anonymization approaches, with Smart Data Protection we anonymize significantly more comprehensively while simultaneously reducing runtime thanks to the search algorithm.
